How often should I come in for a facial?

The general rule of thumb for facials is to get one, once a month. This is most optimal as most people have a skin life cycle of 28 days so a monthly facial will help exfoliate dead skin cells and maintain radiant skin.

How should I prepare in advance for a facial?

Most times there is nothing in particular that you need to do in order to prepare for a facial, however, if you are receiving a facial that uses more abrasive physical or chemical exfoliation, you should avoid exfoliating at home (with Retin-A, or other exfoliants for at least three days before your scheduled appointment.)

ProCell Therapy

Who can do this treatment?

As ProCell microchanneling treatments are minimally invasive, they are also safe for all skin types. Whether you are fair-skinned or dark, and even if you experience chronic breakouts, properly conducted microchanneling treatments will not result in hyperpigmentation, keloid scars, or other lasting negative side effects.

What's in the serum?

ProCell’s Microchannel Delivery Serum contains bone marrow-derived growth factors in a hyaluronic acid suspension. Both of these elements are naturally occurring in the human body. There are no human, animal, or plant cells, DNA, blood, or any other foreign substances. The product has been used safely and effectively for over a decade.

What skin conditions will this help with?

Microchanneling treatments can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks, and rosacea.

My skin is irritated. Can I use moisturizer?

It is normal for treatments to result in some skin irritation, especially for clients with more sensitive skin. Always wait a minimum of 90 minutes before putting anything else on the skin. During this time it is normal for the skin to remain pink or light red. After the 90 minutes you can apply additional moisturizer or other products. Keep in mind however, that as your skin may be more sensitive than usual for several days after the treatment, especially strong topicals should be avoided until the skin returns to normal.

How long before I can expect to see results?

Though neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen) can take several weeks, it is not abnormal to notice an improvement in the quality and appearance of your skin within the first 24 hours. After 2-3 treatments a thicker more robust, collagen-filled cellular matrix will produce more consistent and noticeable improvement. And 6 or more treatments may be recommended for scarring, laxity, and wrinkles.

Are there any contraindications?

If you have any underlying condition that significantly impairs your immune system, it is a good idea to avoid microchanneling. Examples include but are not limited to active radiation or chemotherapy, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic inflammatory skin disease, Accutane in the past 2 years, hemophilia, or similar bleeding disorder. Also anyone with stainless steel allergies should not do this treatment. We also discourage treatments for those who are pregnant or nursing.

Do I have to use the MicroChanneling solution/aftercare serums?Microchanneling stimulates the body to release peptides, cytokines and growth factors that induce collagen production. As you get older, the stem cells that produce these vital proteins lose efficacy and decline in population, so microchanneling alone becomes less and less effective. Because of premature aging, the Microchannel Delivery Serum and the post-care Cellular Renewal Serum and Healing Accelerator Serum become more vital to improvement. Use of the ProCell aftercare products ensures the skin continuously receives potent, robust, pristine peptides, cytokines and growth factors even in between treatments. Think of diet and exercise – micro channeling without serums is like exercising without dieting. Results can be good with microchanneling only but are significantly amplified with serums.

Fascial Stretch Therapy

Why do we need fascial stretch therapy?

In today's modern world, our bodies are not naturally equipped to handle the demands and stressors of our lifestyle, such as driving, technology use, and sedentary behavior. Fascial stretch therapy offers a proactive solution to support our bodies in adapting and staying strong against these challenges, promoting resilience and well-being.

What is a fascia?

Fascia is a pervasive connective tissue that surrounds and links joints, muscles, and ligaments. Its condition directly affects the health and function of various body parts. Fascial Stretch Therapy aims to release tension in the fascia, reduce joint pressure, alleviate pain, and enhance muscle flexibility by stimulating the release of synovial fluid.

How is fascial stretch therapy different from yoga or traditional stretching??

Fascia acts like a tight casing around muscles. Traditional stretching only targets muscles, causing temporary relief. However, Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST®) addresses the entire myofascial system, including muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, bones, and fascia. By doing so,  fascial stretch therapy promotes lasting flexibility and alleviates tightness.

Will the session hurt?

Fascial Stretch Therapy is a pain-free, relaxing, easy, and convenient form of bodywork. Clients stay fully clothed and relaxed as the trained clinician performs the manual-assisted stretching techniques tailored to their specific needs. There is no use of massage oils or creams. Clients will leave their session feeling renewed, relaxed, and mobile.

How long should I wait between waxing treatments?

Usually, you should aim to wait three to five weeks depending on how quickly the hair grows.

How long does the hair have to be?

The hair must be at least 1/4 of an inch long in order to be long enough to grab with the wax. This is comparable to the length of a sprinkle or a grain of rice.

What should you avoid after a fresh wax?

Avoid having sex for at least 48 hours. Avoid hot baths/showers, saunas, and excessively hot environments for at least 48 hours.  Avoid physical and chemical exfoliants for at least 72 hours. Avoid intense workouts right after a wax. Avoid artificial fragrances, colored soaps, lotions, sprays, and tanning for at least 48 hours.

What can I do prior to waxing to prevent pain or discomfort?

Always wait for the ideal hair length because if it's shorter than a 1/4 of an inch, the wax won't be able to grip the hair completly which will make the session more painful and less effective. Keep us with exfoliating to help draw out ingrown hairs for an easier wax session. Avoid using prescription retinoids/retinol prior to waxing  (at least a week) as it will make the skin more sensitive and lead to post-wax irritation. If you would like to prevent pain, take ibuprofen around 30 minutes before your appointment, it'll help decrease inflammation while easing the pain. (P.S. just try to relax, the more relaxed you are the better!)

What type of wax do we use?

We use hard wax!

Can I a get a wax during menstruation?

Yes, you can be waxed while menstruating, however, in order for us to perform the service, you must be using a tampon or menstrual cup instead since intimate waxes require you to remove underwear so a pad won’t be able to give you protection. Although many clients, find that waxing is more painful during this time of the month.

Does waxing hurt?

As waxing does involve hair being pulled from the root, it will hurt more than just shaving it off. The first time getting waxed in any area will hurt the most and does get less painful each time after because the hair regrows thinner and weaker making it easier to pull off. Overall, everyone’s pain tolerance is different though so the pain will vary from person to person.
