Hey Skindelush Babes!

With the cold winter months here, it’s time for some changes. As you begin to switch out your wardrobe, keep in mind that your skincare also needs to transition for the chilly days ahead. It’s around this time that most of us struggle with dry, red and flaky skin due to the lack of humidity in our environment.

No need to throw away your current routine—but making the necessary adjustments to this harsh weather can keep your face and body glowing all winter long. This means using products that help hydrate skin and lock in that much needed moisture.

Here are some practices you can follow to maintain your healthy, radiant skin this winter:

  • Lather on the lip oils and balms — don’t skip your lips. In the winter, lips can dry out, chap and crack easily. Gently exfoliate to clear any dead skin and apply your favorite lip oil or balm.

  • Try facial steaming — bringing the humidity back into your skin with a facial steamer can restore lost moisture and create a great base for the rest of your skincare routine. This may also be a great time to try out our Skindelush facials…

  • Avoid hot showers and baths—yes, we know how cozy a hot shower can be after a day in the cold, but it can do more harm than good for your skin, stripping it of its natural oils. Instead, opt for warm or cool water and get bundled up post-shower. Don’t forget to moisturize immediately after!

Remember to be kind to your skin as it changes and requires extra love.

If you are experiencing abnormal or extreme irritation, dryness or redness in your skin, be sure to reach out to a dermatologist.

Stay Warm! ✨

Hey Skindelush babes!

Christmas is just around the corner!

Whether you’re looking forward to dining with friends and family or preparing to manage the uncomfortable moments and feelings that may arise, there’s no doubt that this time of year demands a lot from us.

As always, self-care is a practice that is necessary for our wellbeing. This means doing activities that will relax and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Here are some Skindelush-approved self-care tips for you to practice this Christmas.

Gratitude

Our plans and to-do lists can be so overwhelming and we can easily become bogged down. Taking the time to express gratitude can remind us of all the wonderful people and things in our lives. Write down some things you’re grateful for around this time of year, or take a moment to tell a loved one, “thank you”.

Movement

Exercise—in any form—is a great way to have a feel-good body and mind. When you exercise, your brain releases chemicals like endorphins that put you in a better mood. This doesn’t mean you need a 5-hour training session at the gym. A quick walk after lunch, a bike ride home or even light yoga before bed can be enough to support your physical and mental health.

Relaxation

Regardless of how hectic the holidays are for you, it’s important to make time for rest and relaxation. You decide what R&R looks like for you—a long bubble bath, a mid-day nap or catching up on your favourite series—all that matters is that you give yourself the time and space to slow down and recuperate.

As stressful as the holidays might be, remember to make room for the joy that comes your way!
