Christmas Self-Care

Hey Skindelush babes!

Christmas is just around the corner!

Whether you’re looking forward to dining with friends and family or preparing to manage the uncomfortable moments and feelings that may arise, there’s no doubt that this time of year demands a lot from us.

As always, self-care is a practice that is necessary for our wellbeing. This means doing activities that will relax and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Here are some Skindelush-approved self-care tips for you to practice this Christmas.

Gratitude

Our plans and to-do lists can be so overwhelming and we can easily become bogged down. Taking the time to express gratitude can remind us of all the wonderful people and things in our lives. Write down some things you’re grateful for around this time of year, or take a moment to tell a loved one, “thank you”.

Movement

Exercise—in any form—is a great way to have a feel-good body and mind. When you exercise, your brain releases chemicals like endorphins that put you in a better mood. This doesn’t mean you need a 5-hour training session at the gym. A quick walk after lunch, a bike ride home or even light yoga before bed can be enough to support your physical and mental health.

Relaxation

Regardless of how hectic the holidays are for you, it’s important to make time for rest and relaxation. You decide what R&R looks like for you—a long bubble bath, a mid-day nap or catching up on your favourite series—all that matters is that you give yourself the time and space to slow down and recuperate.

As stressful as the holidays might be, remember to make room for the joy that comes your way!
